Review - Grizzly 12" Baby Drum Sander

This Grizzly 12" Baby Drum Sander is a Little Wonder and you should not be fooled by its diminutive size. This baby Drum Sander packs a real punch when it comes to sanding wood up to 12" wide for the ultimate finish. Sized for bench tops or sturdy tool stands, it comes equipped with a 1 1/2 HP sanding motor, a variable speed conveyor motor and with the gear table elevation hand wheel, you can fine tune the finish just right. The Features include a steel dust scoop to maximize dust collection efficiency, two adjustable pressure rollers and a thickness scale. It comes in a welded steel construction with an industrial-duty conveyor belt and has convenient side handles for portability.

Customer satisfaction is good with regard to purchase of this apparatus. The sander does its job just beautifully and requires very little or no adjustments at all. The main use is for edge sanding face frames. Whether you sand one or several at a time the tracking belt holds each piece in place. It is recommended that you operate on required 18 amp circuit or you will be re-setting your circuit breaker. Expert opinion is not to push the sander too hard, especially if you sand wide pieces. It is a highly recommended tool for specific purposes. The accompanying manual is clearly written and contains more information than you would expect. Dust collection is pretty good but some does end up on the floor even with the Grizzly 2hp collector. For sanding of specific sized wood this drum sander is value for money purchase.
