Electric Sanders are power tools used mainly for smoothing down wood or wood finishes. They consist of a moving surface, usually a wheel or belt, that has sand paper attached to it and in most instance are either operated by electrical power or compressed air. A fine grit sand paper will provide a perfectly smooth finish whilst coarser papers provide a much rougher surface, and are normally used to rapidly remove material. Sander sizes can vary from handheld units to larger units locating in manufacturing plants used to sand large sheets of plywood.
Electric drum sanders cut your sanding time by 75 percent. Open-ended electric drum sanders allow you to quickly sand materials up to 32 inches wide with just two passes through the machine. Depending on the amp-horsepower you would have continuous-duty motor, which means it will work harder for longer. The drum can operate at 1,700 rpm while the feed adjusts infinitely between 0 and 10 feet per minute depending on the model. Special spring clip to electric drum sanders can hold the end of the sandpaper roll, which makes for quick and easy paper changes, which is much more convenient than the changes of competing systems. This is great for sanding larger boards.
