Spindle Sanders

A spindle sanding apparatus is one that includes a motor and mechanical drive system for imparting rotational and oscillator motion to an output shaft. The up-and-down movement of an oscillating spindle sander is ideal for sanding curves.

Nothing beats the finish of an oscillating spindle sander for smoothing curved edges. If space is a problem for setting it up, then the bench top version is great. It provides a large table surface with several different sanding drums that may be stowed under the table. You can use the right sanding drum with a quick change for perfect results.
  Oscillating Spindle Sander

Spindle sander table versions also include spindle changing wrenches, table inserts and dust ports. They work fast with the abrasive drum lasting longer and there is less risk of heat buildup. Oscillating spindle sanders are not new to woodworking, but with new additions they make special sanding jobs just perfect.

They are really good at what they do besides being easy to set up, take down and operate. You may also find a two in one proposition with a spindle sander and a disk sander coming together. This allows workmen to do neat jobs on the inside and outside radius of what they are working at, to get all curves and straights perfect.
